Freeze dryer is a widely used equipment in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical and other industries, especially suitable for drying heat sensitive substances. Freeze drying technology, also known as freeze-drying technology, removes moisture from materials through low temperature and vacuum conditions, thereby maintaining the original composition, form, and activity of the materials. As a key link in the freeze-drying process, the freeze-drying machine is usually used in the experimental stage before large-scale production, and has important technical verification and optimization functions.

Basic structure of Freeze dryer:
This freeze-drying equipment mainly consists of four parts: freezing system, vacuum system, heating system, and control system. The freezing system cools the sample to -30 ℃ to -80 ℃ through low temperature, freezing the moisture in the material into ice; The vacuum system uses a vacuum pump to freeze the interior of the freeze-drying chamber
Vacuumize to lower the freezing point of water and promote ice sublimation; The heating system provides appropriate heat to assist in the sublimation process of ice in the material; The control system is responsible for real-time monitoring of various parameters to ensure the stability and efficiency of the freeze-drying process.
Working principle
The working principle of the pilot freeze-drying machine can be summarized as follows:
- Material freezing: The sample is placed in the freeze-drying tray of the freeze dryer, and after low-temperature treatment by the freezing system, the moisture in the sample quickly freezes into ice.
- Vacuuming: After freezing is completed, the vacuum pump of the freezing machine starts working, extracting the air in the freeze-drying chamber and reducing the pressure inside the system to a vacuum state. At this point, the temperature remains low, and the ice inside the material begins to directly transform into gas through the sublimation process.
- Sublimation and drying: Gradually raise the temperature through a heating system, providing appropriate heat to promote the sublimation of ice. The sublimation process is the key to removing moisture from materials and must be carried out under strict control to avoid overheating or structural damage to the materials.
- Drying completion and thawing: After the moisture in the material is removed, the heating system of the freeze dryer stops working, the material returns to room temperature, and the drying process ends.
